Adams Plus Pyrethrin Dip 4 oz

• 4 fl oz (118 mL) concentrated dip
• For dogs and cats over 12 weeks of age
• Must be diluted before use; rinse-free after application

• Kills and repels fleas, ticks, lice, gnats, mosquitoes and flies
• Includes aloe vera extract and lanolin
• Concentrated formula mixes with warm water for labeled use

Piperonyl butoxide: butylcarbityl (6-propylpiperonyl) ether and related compounds. Contains petroleum distillate.

• Read the entire container label before every use. Shake well.
• Thoroughly mix ½ fl oz (1 tablespoon) concentrate with 1 gallon of warm water. Prepare fresh diluted solution daily.
• If the coat is very dirty, the manufacturer directs bathing first with an Adams shampoo. Follow its label and do not assume all pesticide products may be used together.
• Apply to a dry or damp coat, not a wet coat. Sponge or dip the animal with the diluted solution, wetting treated areas to the skin while observing all label restrictions.
• Do not use more than 1 gallon of diluted dip per animal.
• Allow the dip to dry on the animal. Do not rinse off.
• Repeat after 7 days only if necessary. Do not apply more frequently.

Animal precautions

• Do not apply over cuts, wounds or irritated skin.
• Do not apply near the eyes or mouth. Apply sparingly around the ears.
• Consult a veterinarian before use on debilitated, aged, medicated, pregnant or nursing animals.
• Pesticide sensitivities may occur. If sensitivity develops, bathe the pet with mild soap and rinse with large amounts of water; if signs persist, consult a veterinarian immediately.
• Do not use on puppies or kittens younger than 12 weeks.
• Using multiple pesticides simultaneously is not recommended. Consult your veterinarian about an appropriate treatment plan and follow every product label.

Handling precautions

• Causes substantial but temporary eye injury; harmful if swallowed or inhaled.
• Avoid contact with skin or clothing and contamination of food.
• Wear protective eyewear (face shield or goggles), long-sleeved shirt, long pants, shoes, socks and chemical-resistant gloves.
• EPA label lists suitable glove materials: barrier laminate, butyl rubber, nitrile rubber, neoprene rubber, polyvinyl chloride or Viton.
• Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco or using the toilet.
• Remove contaminated clothing promptly, wash skin and change into clean clothing; wash clothing before reuse.
• Remove protective equipment after handling. Wash glove exteriors before removal and wash thoroughly/change into clean clothing as soon as possible.

Environmental precautions

Toxic to aquatic organisms including fish and invertebrates. Do not apply directly to water, areas where surface water is present, or intertidal areas below mean high water mark. Do not contaminate water with washwaters or rinsate.

First aid

• Eyes: Hold the eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15–20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing. Call a poison-control center or doctor for treatment advice.
• Swallowed: Call poison control or a doctor immediately. If able to swallow, sip a glass of water. Do not induce vomiting unless instructed by poison control or a doctor; give nothing by mouth to an unconscious person.
• Skin or clothing: Remove contaminated clothing and rinse skin with plenty of water for 15–20 minutes. Seek poison-control or medical advice.
• Have the container or label available when seeking treatment. The label lists 800-234-2269 for emergency medical treatment information.
• Contains petroleum distillate. The label notes that probable mucosal damage may contraindicate gastric lavage.
